In less than 7 days Jacob (Jake) Bronson, Belleville Ont., with help from his friends in the FaceBook group, No Limit Trukz, had organized a meet to raise money and gather donations to send out to Fort McMurray. Water, non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies, as well as pet food were gathered.

“As I watched the events unfolded in Fort Mac, I felt I had to do something,” said Jacob Bronson. “I contacted some of the members of the group and many of us have friends out there, we just had to do something.”

As well as announcing the meet on their FaceBook group, Cool FM 100.1 did a 3 minute spot to help promote the event, and Belleville’s Bourbon Street Pizza location posted flyers in the restaurant and on their website. 39+ hardy truck owners came out and braved the miserable weather to raise more then $1100 and fill two half tons with supplies for Fort MacMurray.

As well as people supplies, Furballs Choice, Corbyville Ont. were collecting pet food and supplies. The need in Fort MacMurray continues to be urgent. As well as cash donations, volunteers are needed to help and can contact either Todd Smith M.P.P. Office or Furballs Choice. The Canadian Red Cross is accepting donations at local banks as well as on line.
