1979 Lotus Esprit S2 John Player Special

Special edition car was released to commemorate Lotus’s racing victories in the 1978 F1 World Championship. Commonly known as the John Player Special (JPS) Esprits shared the black and gold colour scheme of Lotus’ then F1 sponsor, John Player & Sons. The “JPS” Esprit has the same mechanical as the regular two-litre S2. According to Lotus themselves a limited series of 300 was built, but best estimates suggest that 149 JPS Esprits were produced.
