All roads lead to Brighton’s Applefest Car Show!
The unofficial start to the Applefest Car Show began in Trenton Ont. on Friday night.
Wilson Lee, Trenton Ont. started the cruise night last year. Wilson Lee wanted to give some of the out-of-town participants something to do and to see a little bit of the beautiful Quinte region. More important then that Wilson Lee hopes to expose the next generation of car enthusiasts to classic cars.
“These cars have so much more character then what is on the road today,” said Wilson Lee.
Over 80 vehicles and there owners came out to the former Zellars parking lot and 20 plus made the cruise out to Applefest and returned.
This years celebrity guests at Brighton’s Applefest Car Show were Counting Cars, ROCK N’ ROLI and Horny Mike seen on the History Channel . This was the first time in Canada for the celebrity headliners featured on the show. Horny Mike is an airbrush artist who puts 3-D horns on everything. Roli Szabo is the shop detailer at Count’s Kustoms.

The planning and hard work of Don Postma and his team from MSH Promotions paid off with line-ups at the gate for participants kept to a minimum.
“Great weather, great crowds and great cars,” said Don Potsma. “I couldn’t ask for anything more.”
Don Postma was on the road beginning in early April promoting the Car Show almost constantly.

Rat Rods are an alternative to the highly polished custom cars and hot rods seen at car show and cruise nights. The builders often use seeming unrelated parts to create a unique vehicle. Shawn Cormier, Carrying Place Ont. certainley achieved that goal with his creation, TANKENSTEIN. Originally the tub (tank portion) was acquired to haul logs out of the woods two years ago. He then added the 1947 Mercurey Truck cab (found in the woods) and dropped a 305 CID engine into his creation.
