This was a first ever event for organizer Dan Bovay, Bowmanville Ont. The meet and greet was in preparation for the 4th annual Torque Modified Car Show, August 16th in Bowmanville Ont. Dan was inspired to create the event after the success of last fall’s Winter Beater Show. Winter Beater helped raise more toys for Toy Mountain for sponsor Fraser Ford (Oshawa and Cobourg) than any other Ford dealer in the GTA.

When the idea for a car show in Bowmanville was first conceived by Dan he wanted to find a way to to welcome the tuners. After several suggestion the name Torque Modified was chosen. Last years show drew over 300 cars. The show will feature both classic cars and tuners and for those that modify their watts RMS as well as horsepower there is a SPL (sound pressure level) competition.

There were over 70 cars were at the event. One car that embraced both old school and new school thinking was Iain Crawford’s, Brampton Ont. 1976 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray. Iain has owned the ‘Vette for 14 years and has tweaked it “a little”.

Beginning with a custom paint job, Iain then continued the transformation with a Daytona Twin-turbo hood, fender louvers, butterfly doors, Foose wheels, hand fabricated dash and centre console, Hooker side pipes, RCI seats, fuel injection, 4-bolt main, March serpentine kit, dropped the car 2 inches and a further 1 1/2 inches drop on the seat pan, and just to keep it humble, Iain added Noma Moonrays to the taillight treatment.
